Today’s entry: Catastrophe Handler
“An incoming call for Doctor Xander Bylix,” the mechanic voice declared.
“Who is it from?” Xander said as he scanned the pit of all the fallen, the returned and the faulty.
His smile widened. “Let her through.”
“Yes ma’am, how may I help you this lovely afternoon?”
His eyes watered as a breath hit his face. You are so magnificent, he thought. So perfect.
“I want you to bring it all!” Marge screamed in his ear. “Do you hear me? Everything! I want you to turn the president’s quarters to dust.”
“That won’t be a problem ma’am. I can send something that makes your request seem minor.”
“Do it then! And Xander, they cannot die! So, make sure they suffer.”
“They will suffer I can promise you that much.”
A monotonous tone signaled that the call was over.
“We will make everyone suffer,” he mumbled. “Isn’t that right?”
The large mass rising from the pit observed him from thousand rotten eyes. It squealed.
“Yes, you are right. Come to me my wonderful monster.”
The mass leaned over Xander and swallowed him. He laughed, and the monster’s squeal joined in.
